Big Country CDL trip planning

Abilene drivers can begin theory at home and separate a local DPS appointment from vehicle time in Royse City.

How should an Abilene equipment hauler choose a test vehicle?

Get the rated weights of the actual truck and trailer from the employer. A truck used alone on one job and with an equipment trailer on another may point to different CDL paths. Check the driving job you want before booking the test rig.

Find the right DPS location before booking equipment

Compare your Abilene appointment with the office’s confirmed rental locations before booking a truck or making the trip east.

Office suggestions use the listed locations near the starting city. Your appointment confirmation determines the actual test address. Get Your CDL Quick! provides its in-person vehicle services in Royse City.

Get an itemized quote for your trip

If an employer in the Big Country expects you to haul equipment, ask how heavy the loaded combination is rated and whether the job calls for a manual tractor. Ask which rental charges apply to your test site, what fuel costs extra and whether your selection qualifies for separate complimentary behind-the-wheel ELDT.
